Launching the study “Considerations on Challenges and Future Directions in Cybersecurity” at the Romanian Academy

The study „Considerations on Challenges and Future Directions in Cybersecurity”, developed on the occasion of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, was launched at the Romanian Academy on November 26, 2019. The volume was elaborated under the aegis of the Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance (RAISA), with the support of the Romanian National Computer Security Incident Response Team (CERT-RO) and the National Cyberint Center within the Romanian Intelligence Service.

The study represents a cooperation exercise in the cybersecurity field, standing for a joint effort of experts from the public, private and academic fields to develop a cybersecurity framework for education, innovation, cooperation and human resource management and to reveal future challenges and strategic directions in this area.

The event from the Romanian Academy was opened by prof.dr.ing. Ioan Bacivarov – president of the Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance (RAISA), who underlined the importance of international cooperation for cybersecurity. During the first session of the event, there were official interventions of:

  • Anton Rog – National Cyberint Center within the Romanian Intelligence Service;
  • Veronica Stoica – “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Police Academy;
  • Cristian Priboi – Romanian National Computer Security Incident Response Team (CERT-RO);
  • Andrew Greenough – U.S. Embassy in Romania;
  • Bareket Knafo – Israeli Embassy in Romania;
  • David Sutcliffe – British Embassy in Romania.

Experts from public administration, academia and private sector were invited for presenting the study “Considerations on Challenges and Future Directions in Cybersecurity” and for discussing topics related to the new challenges and directions in the field of cybersecurity.
