Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance joins the fight to combat plagiarism.

RAISA will use the platform Sistemantiplagiat.ro  to verify the authenticity of articles published in the scientific journal IJISC – International Journal of Information Security and Cybercrime – journal indexed in international databases, published in collaboration with professors from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania and the Police Academy “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”, Romania.

RAISA – Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance accomplished two years of activity on November 13, 2014. Founded in 2012, RAISA emerged as an initiative dedicated to promote standards of security and to fight against cybercrime. The purpose of Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance is promoting and supporting information security activities in compliance with applicable laws and creating a community for the exchange of knowledge between specialists, academic  and corporate environment in Romania.

In two years of activity, RAISA developed several activities and projects, among which we recall:

• the project “The Promotion of the Scientific Research in the Field of Information Security”, in which the scientific journal IJISC – International Journal of Information Security and Cybercrime was published. The journal aim is to analyze information, systems and communications security and to identify new facets of the phenomenon of cybercrime. IJISC is  indexed in  international databases and can be read on www.ijisc.com website;
• the project “Studies on Implementing Safety Measures in order to Ensure Information Security”, in which the portal www.securitatea-informatiilor.ro was reorganized and promoted in order to provide an updated database to the information security specialists and passionate users which like to improve their knowledge in the field;
• the project “Protection of Computer Systems Against Cybercrime Phenomenon” in which the portal www.criminalitatea-informatica.ro was developed – a platform used for communicating the information of major interest on the latest cyber attacks and the methods of protection against them in order to provide effective methods to prevent and to combat the phenomenon of cybercrime;
• the project “Management of automatic data processing techniques” in which new methods of processing and securing data from office applications  were studied. During this project a laboratory guide “Software for Office” being published;
• the project “Implementation of IT&C Technologies in On-line Education System”, a project whose aim is to develop an e-learning platform – www.cpf.ro for special training programs for  personnel involved in the management of electronic information (processing, management, security).

Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance was involved in public consultations on the subject of the National Strategy on Digital Agenda for Romania 2014-2020 and the National Plan of NGA held by Ministry for Information Society. National Strategy for the Digital Agenda 2014-2020 represents the tool that will ensure the alignment of the intelligent development of information technology with the level recorded in other Member States and it will established premises for a sustainable and inclusive integration of Romania in terms of technology, in the digital single market of Europe. RAISA was present to these work groups  to bring its contribution and recommendations for the implementation of the National Strategy for the Digital Agenda and the National Plan of NGA.

In 2014 RAISA has participated as a strategic or media partner at prestigious conferences form cybersecurity field:

• Cybersecurity in Romania Congress – organized by Swiss WebAcademy;
• CyberRisks in Financial Services Conference – organized by Romanian Banking Institute – RBI;
• CyberThreats Conference  – organized by Romanian Banking Institute – RBI;
• CyberSecurity Day Conference – organized by UTI Group;
• International Conference “Quality and Dependability” – CCF 2014 – organized by Romanian Society for Quality Assurance – SRAC;
• DefCamp Conference – organized by Cyber Security Research Center from Romania – CCSIR;
• OWASP Romania InfoSec Conference – organized by OWASP, Romanian Chapter;
• IT & Infrastructure Security Conference – organized by AGORA.

In two years of activity, Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance invested in students education by organizing interactive workshops, delivered by experts in information technology, security and cybercrime. Here are some workshops  developed under RAISA’s aegis:

• Information Security in Office Applications – Second Edition;
• Access to Education and Information through Internet;
• Automatic Data Processing Methods in Microsoft Excel;
• Methods for Cyber Attacks Investigation;
• Set Proper Permissions of Files and Directories in Unix Environment;
• Technologies for Websites Development;
• Information Security in Microsoft Office Applications.

ARASEC involved in public awareness campaigns on dangers and risks in online environment and information campaigns on major conferences and scientific events in the field of cybersecurity. These campaigns were carried out on RAISA’s websites and media channels:

On 11.13.2012 was founded RAISA – Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance. Association emerged as an initiative dedicated to promote the security standards and the fight against cybercrime. The mission of the association is to promote research and education in information security and to contribute to creation and dissemination of knowledge and technology in this field.

The purpose of Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance is to promote and support information security activities in accordance with applicable laws and to create a community area for the exchange of knowledge between experts, academic and corporate environment in Romania.

Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance is a professional, non-governmental, non-partisan political, nonprofit and public benefit association.

To achieve the stated purpose, Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance proposes the following objectives:

1. Collaboration with the academic community from Romania or abroad in order to organize conferences, scientific seminars and workshops for presenting the development and implementation of effective measures to improve information security;
2. Collaboration with research centers, associations and companies from Romania or abroad, to organize informative events in information technology security field;
3. To represent the interests of the association in addition to domestic and international organizations with activity in information security;
4. To develop and sustain the activities of institutions contributing to the development and implementation of security measures in information structures;
5. To perform specific programs for education and training of personnel involved in electronic information management (data processing, storage, security);
6. To perform certification and accreditation activities for companies in information security field;
7. To take action against cyber-attacks and cybercrime and to cooperate with the competent authorities to combat the phenomenon of cybercrime;
8. To ensure the dissemination of notice relating to existing vulnerabilities and nationally and internationally newly identified threats; to provide solutions for data restoration and policies to prevent and combat incidents based on the information provided by suppliers of software solutions;
9. To publish scientific journals for university staff, PhD students or Master’s students, researchers, students and other professional categories in the field of information security and cybercrime;
10. To coordinate and to promote authors of books, textbooks, articles and specialized works in the field of security and cybercrime;
11. To defend, represent and promote the common interests of the members and to provide, within budget, participation to conferences, scientific sessions and workshops in the field;
12. To grant awards, scholarships or sponsorship to people with outstanding merits in the field of information security.
